The Province gathered in Burton upon Trent on Saturday 11th October 2025 for an excellent Provincial Court meeting, followed by an equally enjoyable Festive Board — fine food, good wine, lively conversation, and even a free coaster for every attendee!

But the real highlight of the day came with the announcement of a brand-new tradition for the Athelstan Province of Mercia — the launch of ⚔️ The Travelling Rosetta Stone ⚔️.

From this day forward, a legend will journey across our Province. One Court will hold the Stone proudly — but none can rest easy, for visiting Courts may arrive to claim it as their own!

1. A raiding party must consist of at least two Court Masons.
2. Each Court Master Mason counts as 3 points.
3. Each Worshipful Brother counts as 1 point.
4. The Court with the highest total score wins the Stone.
5. In the event of a tie, the Court that has travelled furthest takes the prize.

The rightful claim must be made at the very end of the Festive Board, immediately after the toast to King Athelstan.

A little friendly rivalry, a little mystery — and a lot of fun for all our Courts!

The Provincial Grand Master has formally presented the Travelling Rosetta Stone to its very first custodians:

The Court of Leofwyne № 33, Chesterfield.

They will hold it in triumph… but for how long?
For at any meeting, a visiting Court may arrive to mount their raid and claim the Stone as their own.

Who will be bold enough to seize it next? 👀

To make a claim:

1. Attend a meeting as a visiting Court with at least two members.
    
2. Wait until the end of the Festive Board.
    
3. After the toast to King Athelstan, rise and declare your right to challenge for the Stone.
    
4. Announce your names and points — and may the best raid win!
    

This exciting new initiative, announced by the Provincial Grand Master, aims to encourage visiting, friendship, and a touch of healthy competition across the Athelstan Province of Mercia.

The Travelling Rosetta Stone will journey from Court to Court, serving as a symbol of fellowship, fun, and the shared spirit that unites us all.

Courts are warmly encouraged to capture the moment when they win — or valiantly lose — their challenge for the Stone!
