# The Province of Mercia

> The Province of Mercia is part of the Masonic Order of Athelstan, an invitational order inspired by the life and times of King Athelstan, England’s first recognised king. Drawing on medieval history, symbolism, and fellowship, the Province unites brethren from across the historic Mercian region in a shared commitment to learning, camaraderie, and the values of integrity and service.
